Hi everyone! Welcome back to another author interview! Today, I have the pleasure of introducing P. J. Gudka, author of the Lifesfinewhine blog here on WordPress and the new author of All the Words I Kept Inside. Check out her answers to my interview questions below and find information on her latest book and how to get in touch. Happy reading!
1) What does writing mean to you? What do you think the purpose of writing is?
To me, writing is my everything. When I write, it just seems like it’s what I was meant to do. For once, my mind is at peace. Writing is also such a great outlet. I’m not the best at communicating verbally, so writing gives me a voice. I can’t speak for other writers but for me, the purpose of writing is to be able to express myself fully. To take what I’m seeing in my mind and put it on paper.
2) What particular genre do you write in? Why are you passionate about that genre?
This one is a little difficult because I dabble in multiple genres and really enjoy them all. But right now, I think poetry and mystery have been my favourites. Poetry is such a great way to express oneself and with mystery, that’s just my favourite genre in general so I absolutely love writing mysteries.
3) What does being a writer mean to you?
For me, writing is my way of making a mark and changing the world. I’m a very passive person in general but through my words, I’m able to be more passionate and show what I stand for. I think for most writers, writing is such an incredibly personal and intimate thing. To share your writing with the world, you have to be the most vulnerable you have ever been and let people see the real you. Being a writer means that I get to take off my mask and be myself. Especially so when writing poetry.
4) Where and how do you find inspiration?
Like many writers, I find my inspiration through reading for the most part. Whenever I read something that resonates with me, it often inspires me to write. Other than that, I find inspiration from things I come across in my daily life. Maybe something I saw online or even something that someone says to me can inspire my writing.
5) What are some of the challenges you face as a writer and how do you combat them when you sit down to write or even just prepare to write?
One of my biggest challenges has been writer’s block. I really struggle with it often. For me, the best way to combat it has been to take a break, sit down and meditate. Clearing my mind really allows me to once more tap into my creative side and find the words I need. Once I calm myself and my mind down, writing becomes a lot easier for me. Another challenge has been time. As an entrepreneur, it’s been incredibly difficult to find time for writing. Between the services I offer on my blog and the travel business I co-own, I have a lot of things going on in my life. And finding a schedule where I have enough time to get at least some writing done each day has not been easy but it’s really all about priorities. Once I decided to prioritise my writing, I found ways to make time for it no matter what.
6) Where can we find some of your writing?
You can always find my writing on my blog, Lifesfinewhine. And I recently also published my very first book, All The Words I Kept Inside. It’s a poetry book with a hundred poems that I have written over the last few years. You can purchase it here.
7) Where can we reach you?
You can find me on Instagram or you can always email me at insomniacwithanaccent@gmail.com.
8) What are some interesting facts about you?
I’m double jointed which sometimes freaks people out a little bit. I have Trypophobia which is a more common phobia than I realised. I’m also ambidextrous.
Thanks again to P. J. for sharing her story! If you would also like to do an author interview, feel free to contact me through my Contact page.
As always, happy writing!

Thanks so much for interviewing me, it was so much fun!
Thanks so much and I’m glad you could join!
It was my pleasure!
Yes, I am having writer’s block too and I am reading some books on how to do daily mental exercises to get over one’s block. LOL. I don’t know if it will work. I tried meditation but cannot really meditate for some strange reason.
You got this! Best of luck with your writing!
This is fun. I follow Pooja myself 🤣😎🙃
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed reading!
