So a year has come and gone, and that means another year over for this blog. Crazy to believe that it’ll be five years next day since I started this blog. I can’t wait to see where it goes this year! But a new year means new projects…
Personally, it’s been harder to keep up with this blog since I started my PhD, but at the same time, it’s been a fun writing side project to work on. I plan to continue the Saturday blog posts as well as the book reviews on Tuesday. However, I have other ideas for posts!
My post ideas:
I plan to write more book reviews! But on top of that, I want to start posting some reading challenges. Right now, I maintain (or try to maintain) a reading goal of one classic science fiction or fantasy book a week. So far, I have had periods where I’ve kept to it, and other periods where I haven’t. So I figured a reading challenge would be a great motivation!

I also plan to create more posts about literary journals. Some of my most popular posts talk about literary journals open to submissions. I currently read for a few different ones, so I hope to share some insight on what editors look for, as well as writing about submissions curated to fit your work. Do you write longer science fiction? Do you write in a specific genre? Look no further!

I also plan to start creating posts about book lists. Wanting to read lots of books in a specific genre meant I needed a solid curated list to understand which books I wanted to read. I decided to create some of my own. If you want to read sci-fi from a specific time period, YA fantasy, and other lists, stick around to read more coming soon!

The book lists were just one of the projects I came up with. A lot of older science fiction that I’ve read is in the public domain. I have an idea to put all these public domain works in one place — here! I’m talking lists of works by genre, lists of best short stories, and more! This might end up being a big project, but it’s a project I plan to take on.
