Epic SF/F Book Review Sites

As I’ve interacted more with the science fiction and fantasy writing community, I’ve found a lot of book review sites that I’ve really enjoyed reading. I thought I would share them with you! Check out these awesome sites that post SF/F book reviews (and also links to SF/F books to read!).

While I’ve known these other blogs for a while, I just discovered the Fantasy Cafe earlier this week! I really enjoyed reading the different reviews, so I wanted to share this with you all. Besides book reviews, the Fantasy Cafe includes several guest posts and interviews with authors.

I discovered this site a little while ago, but this site has been around since 1999! The site has multiple lists of book reviews, including one by author and one in chronological order of when the book was released (so there’s plenty to read, and it’s easy to read specific time periods like Golden Age books). The site also has a ranking of the Best and Worst books reviewed, which has helped with my book recommendations.

I discovered this site around the same time as SF News. Like SF News, this blog has a TON of book and short story reviews. They also have a gigantic list of science fiction and fantasy short stories that are in the public domain and that you can read online or listen to. They might best be known for their podcast, The SFFAudio podcast, where they talk to bloggers, podcasters, and more.

And the PDF Public Domain page here.

While this site is named Reactor.com, it’s actually part of Tor Books. It used to be named Tor.com, but they needed to rename it to distinguish it from Tor books and other Tor sites. While this site includes articles about the latest SF/F movies, TV, and more, it also includes book reviews.

I actually did #Scifimonth with this blog last year, and I’m so excited to do it again this year. This blog also does Wyrd and Wonder every May, so a bunch of their posts have centered around that event. This blog focuses on science fiction and fantasy, which includes lots of different author challenges to get readers involved in the community.

This site mostly writes book reviews, but the leader of the site, Caitlin, also writes reviews for television and video games. She makes it easy to contact her regarding reviews, and she also keeps a reading project, called the Great Series Reading Project, ongoing, where she reads every book in multiple series.

I know of plenty of other book review sites, so stay tuned for a part two! Maybe even a part 3, who knows? See you all next week. Happy reading!
