This week, Globe Soup announced the winners and finalists of their 7 Day Story Writing Challenge #5. And I was one of the finalists for the Historical Fiction category!
You can find the finalist page here and E. M. Foster under the Historical Fiction Finalist section (there’s no link for the finalists’ stories, but I might eventually put this story on the Original Writing page). You’ll also find all the finalists for each genre, the honorable mentions, the longlisted, and the winning story in this link.
In case you haven’t heard of Globe Soup and their contests, they provide a bunch of resources, challenges, competitions, and more. So far this year, they have provided a memoir writing contest, their 7 Day Story Writing Challenge, and they’re currently open for their Short Story contest, which you can find here.
Their 7 Day Story Writing Challenge involves (you guessed it) writing a story of up to 2,000 words in just a week after challenges are announced. I included the registration link here. After you register, you won’t need to register again for the next challenge. They’ll also provide you with an assigned genre in an email when the challenge starts (they have a list of genres that you’ll be randomly given to write about, from western to horror to romance). You can find the full competition rules for the challenge here.
I also included their additional competitions here in case you want to take a look at their other competitions. Their short story contest deadline is August 23rd! Happy writing! Thanks again to Globe Soup!
